"Grandpa, will you tell us a story?" The young girl asked her elderly grand father in a small whispering voice.
The old man smiled at her and then motioned for all of the grandchildren to gather in a circle around him. Carefully and methodically he removed his reading glasses and set down his book before clearing his throat and addressing the small crowd of his family, "Four score and fifty ought year ago a great leader ruled over this kingdom. A powerful lady named Candiru. She was a just leader who was beloved by her people and treated with the utmost respect by the leaders of the lands that surrounded our country."
The children stared at their grand father as if he were their favorite TV show as he went on to set the stage for his story. The youngest child curled up on his lap causing him to pause in his story long enough to get comfortable once again. "Aw granpa skip to the war part!!" Interrupted young Bissy the almost teenage boy.
"Settle down children, now as I was saying.... Candiru thought it was for the best that our great nation join an alliance of nations. A union of nations that would aid each other in times of crisis and help to further each other's internal growth in times of peace. They called it the R L M M O... What that stood for was never in the history books, but it was a great organization. Well, one day an evil coalition of blood thirsty and villainous scoundrel nations came to our borders. They sent tanks, men at arms and cruise missles into our heartland with vicious intent. An unprovoked and unjust war."
"What were they called granpa?" One of the older boys asked.
"This collection of scum and deviants was called the Atlantic Shadow Confederation. A coalition of nations that couldn't win battles during the great war and instead had to find smaller nations to attack after they let out from under the boot of justice."
The children all held each other and looked at their grandfather to tell them how it turned out. "Grand father, surely this organization wasn't just left to slaughter innocents by the other powers on Bob?"
"Well...." He looked at each of them and then finished, " I'll tell you the rest tomorrow. I'd like each of you to think of reasons why the nations of Bob would be too scared of the Atlantic Shadow Confederation to help, and then five more reasons why they would understand that this type of behaviour must be stopped for the greater good."
"Yes sir!" They all agreed in unison and then left to ponder the question.
